Maldives, surprisingly versatile!
When thinking about the Maldives you will immediately have a vision of clear blue seas and white sandy beaches. Romance is the main thing on the small islands of the Maldives. In recent years, the Maldives become famous as a diving area and a place where many newly married couples travel to and are inspired by the beauty of the area.
Diving here can give you a big variety of things to see. Big stuff like tuna, whale sharks and manta rays can be found here. But also likers of the small critters can eat their hearth out while diving here.
The Maldives are located in the Indian Ocean southwest of India. The archipelago consists of about 1190 islands. When you fly you will see that the islands are situated in groups together. These groups are called atolls. In the Maldives, there are 26 different atolls. The total area of the Maldives is about 90,000 square km. Most of this area is water. The total land area is only 300 square km. Most islands are very small, Only nine islands are larger than 2 square km. So it's not a good spot for walking; but ist's a great spot for diving, relaxing and enjoying the sun.
