Below you will find the portfolio of André Crone. This portfolio contains images taken all over the world. We love producing stories about colder destinations like Arctic Russia or Antarctica, but this portfolio also contains many of the more popular warmer diving destinations. We do have background, traveling or biological articles available in Dutch or English about all the destinations that are shown in our portfolio. Please contact us if you are interested in using our images or articles. On request we can send you pdf versions of articles that we have produced in the past.
We have many thousands of images in our stock. This portfolio only shows a sub selection of these images. Our stock always contains more destinations and images than show below. Great Barrier Reef
The Great Barrier Reef
The Great Barrier Reef is the largest coral reef in the world. The entire reef is about 2000 km long and between 25 and 50 km wide. It is located in the Coral Sea east of the state of Queensland in northeastern Australia. The reef runs from the southern state of Queensland to Papua New Guinea. The area is one of the biggest tourist attractions in Australia. Because it is such an important nature reserve the area is declared a World Heritage in 1981. The enormity of the reef is perfectly shown on satellite images.
Leopard Seal
Diving with seals is an incredible experience. Several sorts of seals can be found in the Antarctic. While on search for the infamous Leopard seals, we had the pleasure to find some elephant seals and some waddle seals during our trips around the ice. The highly sought after Leopard seals are considered to be the most ferocious seals in the Antarctic. Adult male leopard seals can reach a length of about 3 meters and can weigh up to 300 kilograms. Females are a bit larger. They can be found around the packed ice in summer.
Antarctica
Diving was our main reason for visiting Antarctica so when we arrived we were eager to get started. Diving in the Antarctic is quite an undertaking; yet, divers are briefed during all stages of the trip. Every trip to Antarctica is an adventure. The nautical route as well as the dive sites can not be pre-determined as local weather conditions can and will always influence the trip.
Antarctica Topside
In the past, man could only dream about the existence of a southern continent and for years scientists excitedly discussed the possibility of its existence. They believed that the world should have such a continent since the Earth consisted of so much land volume in the Northern hemisphere it then should have a counter weight in the south to equalize it.
Tasmania Topside
It’s our first evening in the south of Tasmania and we are surprised by all kinds of animals around our bungalow. We just cannot believe how many animals we see around here. Our bungalow is not standing in the middle of in the bush. But nevertheless so many wallabies (small kangaroos) and wombats gather around our house. We have become one with nature immediately. Nature we could not have imagined being so beautiful. But besides the airport and our little bungalow we have not yet seen anything of Tasmania yet.
Saudi Arabia Yanbu
We find black corals at several places. Sometimes the black coral are relatively small branches; but especially on Muddhar we see really enormous trees of black coral on the south side of the reef. With a length of at least three, four meters these are the biggest chunks of black coral we have seen ever.
Saudi Arabia Farasan

Each day over and over again hundreds of diveboats sail of to discover the beautiful world of the red sea. As the red sea is much larger than only the Egyptian part we became curious to discover diving possibilities in other parts of the red sea. This time we fly a bit more to the South were we examine the diving possibilities in Saudi Arabia.
Djedda - Saudi Arabia
Saudi Arabia is a strict Islamic country in the Middle East. The kingdom of Saudi Arabia is the largest country at the Arab peninsula. Thanks to its size it has deal with many neighbouring countries: Jordan, Oman, Koeweit, Qatar, United Arab Emirates and Yemen are all neighbours of Saudi. The country is lead by king Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and his family. Although most people will visionise desert when thinking about Saudi Arabia it apears to be much more varied. There are forests, grass lnads, mountain areas and of course also the well-known desert.
