Below you will find the portfolio of André Crone. This portfolio contains images taken all over the world. We love producing stories about colder destinations like Arctic Russia or Antarctica, but this portfolio also contains many of the more popular warmer diving destinations. We do have background, traveling or biological articles available in Dutch or English about all the destinations that are shown in our portfolio. Please contact us if you are interested in using our images or articles. On request we can send you pdf versions of articles that we have produced in the past.
We have many thousands of images in our stock. This portfolio only shows a sub selection of these images. Our stock always contains more destinations and images than show below. That is because that we are continuously working on new productions. Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you are looking for material that cannot be found in our currently published portfolio on the website.

Sipadan
The island of Sipadan is worldfamous as the place to be to admire turtles and barracudas. But also the rumors of an enourmous variation in species brings loads of divers to Malaysia for a once in an lifetime diveexperience. After hearing all these great stories we wanted to see it with our own eyes so we took the plane to Malaysia. We could spend here one week and were very curious to see how many animals we would find this week.
Mozambique
As part of our tour with the “Mozambique Experience”, we had the opportunity to spend time with the two marine biologists who are studying the Whale Sharks and the Manta Rays in the area. Andrea Marshal, originally from the USA, has been studying the Mantas here for more than three years. Simon Pierce, from New Zealand arrived in October of last year to study the Whale Sharks. Their research is being coordinated with the University of Queensland in Australia and is being supported in part by Casa Barry Lodge, Tofo Scuba and the recently formed Mozambique Manta Ray and Whale Shark Trust.
Mozambique Topside
Waking up to our last day of diving in Tofo Beach and we almost have to pinch ourselves. It is another beautiful sunrise over the Indian Ocean, with the sound of the waves gently breaking on the beach just in front of our chalet, and still one more day of diving to go. Yes, we had heard the stories, had seen the photos and watched the DVDs, but until we were here it was hard for us to believe it could be true. But here we were - one week of diving behind us and already we had had close encounters with more than seventy Manta Rays and twelve Whale Sharks!
Maldives
Maldives, surprisingly versatile!
When thinking about the Maldives you will immediately have a vision of clear blue seas and white sandy beaches. Romance is the main thing on the small islands of the Maldives. In recent years, the Maldives become famous as a diving area and a place where many newly married couples travel to and are inspired by the beauty of the area.
Tiger Sharks
Sitting down with a nice cup of coffee we still cannot believe what we have experienced today. A little more than half a day of diving lies behind us. Not a normal dive day, no, diving with Tiger Sharks is diving in a different way. You either enjoy or fear these enormous animals. We were to found that out ourselves this day. Family and friends thought we had gone crazy. Tiger Sharks are well known as agressive animals. And we were going to dive with them in open sea. Completely stupid they declared us.
Grüner See
The Grüner See is our final destination. This mountain lake is on 776 meters high in Steiermark Austria. A visit to this lake will take you through the pittoresk village of Tragöss, some 25 km north of Bruck a.d. Mur. Driving to the lake takes us through amazing mountains and typical Austrian villages. It a good preparation for our diving adventure. The trip ends at the Guesthouse “Seehof”, a nice mountain hit where they provide food and drinks. A perfect place where you can enjoy the company of your buddy’s.
Philippines Dumaguete
Already for a lot of years divers go to the Philippines. And for sure, diving in the Philippines has many different faces. In this enormous country you can enjoy your dive holiday in many ways. We have chosen this time to visit a dive resort on the island Negros: Pura Vida. This island in the Visayas area of the Philippines offers many possibilities of enjoying the under water life.
Mexico Cozumel
Diving in Cozumel
Cozumel an island near the Mexican city of Cancun. From Cancun you drive to Playa del Carmen where you can take the ferry to the island of Cozumel. The island is situated along one of the largest reefs in the world. The reef runs from Isla Mujeres to the coast of Honduras. The reefs are spoiled with nutrient-rich water that provides a rich marine life. Visibility under water is almost always good. Visibility greater than 50 meters is no exception to Cozumel.
Mexico Cenotes
Diving the Cenotes in Mexico.
The soil in the north of the Mexican peninsula of Yucatan consists of limestone. Characteristic of these soils is the fact that it is very porous. The soil can not hold the rainwater. For centuries long rainwater seeped through the porous limestone. In this way underground tunnels and caves with stalactites arose. When the seawater rised these caves were flooded. We all know the feeling of walking into a cave. But float between the stalactites is truly an experience you do not want to miss.
Lembeh
Shooting critters in Indonesia.
Photography is all about watching. You really have to look at your subject to determine the perfect shot. This is especially important while taking close-up pictures. Most photographers think that close-up photography is easy and that wide angle is difficult. From a technical standpoint this is true. Most modern camera’s work very well in combination with modern strobes and this is perfect for close-up photography. For wide angle you have complex lighting situations when you want to use both ambient light and strobe light.
